The Task.
to highlight the grand event of delivering, unloading, and installing massive STS cranes on the dock.
The delivery, unloading, and installation of the massive STS cranes on the dock was a truly impressive feat. The cranes, each weighing 750 tons, were transported by sea from the Netherlands to the TIS container terminal, a journey that took 20 days. The installation process was complex and required the expertise of 40 individuals at various stages.
To ensure the cranes did not touch the Bosphorus Bridge, their booms had to be removed during transport. Once on land, the gantry cranes were placed on special modular transporters and carried to the dock. A team of ten installers and two cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 450 tons then worked tirelessly to install the booms on the cranes.
The successful delivery, unloading, and installation of the STS cranes is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the individuals involved. With five powerful STS cranes now in place, the TIS container terminal is well-equipped to handle even the most demanding cargo operations.
Spectacular achievement is always preceded by unspectacular preparation.
